Recommended Use: The following dosage schedule is recommended for daily administration. Consult with your veterinarian to determine the proper dosage and schedule for each individual animal prescribed this product:

The recommended dosage is 2 scoops (1.5 grams)/45 lbs. (20 kg) body weight daily. For best results during an UTI occurence, the daily dosage should be administered every 12 hours.
Administration: A 1-cc precision dosing scoop is included to measure out the prescribed daily dose and administer over the pet’s foog. Producy may be mixed with food to facilitate cmplete consumption. Since the dose for the Chewable Tablets is 1 tab/45 lbs (20 kg) daily, if you have a pet that is smaller than 45 lbs., the flavored Granules may be an easier formulation to administer daily. The recommended dose for the Granules is 2 scoops/45 lbs., so if your pet is 20-25 lbs. you could administer just one scoop over the pet’s food daily. For even smaller size pets, especially cats, the Granules is very logical to use, since an average size cat would be administered ½ scoop daily. A precision dosing scoop is included in the container and it delivers 0.75 grams/scoop.
The recommended daily dose for an average size cat would be ½ scoop/day or 0.75 grams/day. Therefore, the 300 grams container would last an average size cat about 400 days or roughly 13.3 months. This product has 3-year expiration dating from the date of manufacture, so cat owners should be able to use the entire container before this date.
The Granules are flavored with natural, real chicken so cats and dogs will readily eat the granules daily. However, if your pet is allergic to chicken, then you will not be able to use this product.
If your pet does develop a urinary tract infection, it is recommended to administer this product two times a day (BID) instead of once a day (SID). By doing this, the ingredients in this formulation will help resolve and eliminate the infection quicker, which is beneficial to the pet. The mode of operation for the ingredients in this product will help the pet eliminate the bacterial infection in their urinary tract sooner. In addition, none of the ingredients in the product will interfere with the veterinarian’s choice of antibiotics.
Pala-Tech uses cranberry extract sourced from the American Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon), which contains proanthocyanidins (PAC’s) that work to stop pathogenic bacteria from attaching to the inner lining of the bladder wall. If these pathogenic bacteria are not able to attach to the bladder wall and colonize, then the bacteria are flushed out in the urine. This is how cranberry extract works by minimizing the bacterial colonization of the bladder mucosa.
